Updating some old issues

Posted on February 2, 2010 in General News | Comments: zero

Hadn’t posted in a while so I thought I’d drop a note.  For those wondering about the progress of my book, I’ll be using a pen name, so you can follow things at ChristySummerland.com.

Physical therapy on my neck did finally greatly reduce my headaches.  And my tail bone pain is gone.  This pain I was told might never be fixed, for a problem even surgery couldn’t rectify, was fixed by one therapist simply by sitting with proper posture.  Try it.  You might like it.  Granted, if I sit in chairs where posture is difficult, it will start to hurt.  So I try to avoid those chairs.

I’ve lost 21 pounds in my mission to be a healthier me.  I still have a lot of foot pain here and there, usually after I clean the house (imagine that) but I’m confident someday I’ll get rid of that issue completely.  I accept nothing else.

The only other big news is I have a song that will be on The 2010 Goddess Festival cd.  Of course, Vick had to drag me into it, but now that she has I’m kind of excited about it.  I’m redoing the vocals tonight.

In pet news, I’ve become even more attached to Buddy the Mutt (or Butters, as I like to call him).  I couldn’t get attached to him for a while because he ended up not being what I wanted, but now I just love that handsome little ornery devil.  Sure, he’s twice the size of my goal for a second dog, but he’s so lovable.  He really is my buddy.  I grab his face and say, “Oh hamburgers” and he just smiles.  Only South Park fans will get that reference.  He’s my Butters!

And someday I might have to write about the part of my journey that was carried along by the marathon viewing of every season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dollhouse and Tru Calling, and how Eliza Dushku accidentally became a sort of mile marker in my own wacky path back from the worst year ever (for me).  Now I’m on to Xena, so I can get within a few miles of having watched all the shows my sister has ever recommended.  Thank goodness for MasterCard rewards on Ebay.  Who doesn’t like practically free dvds?

That’s it for now.  This update is marginally complete.  Return to your regularly scheduled programming.
