I was coming up with my “journey” cd, a mix of songs that have been really close to me since my mother died, some friends became more golden and some proved to be crap. It’s got songs like Lita Ford’s “Fall,” Doro’s version of “Barracuda,” L7′s “Shitlist,” Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters,” Crucified Barbara’s “Pain and Pleasure” and more. But I end it with two songs in particular that make me happy. The last song is Flyleaf’s “Fully Alive” but before that is my personal theme song.
You might find it a bit strange, but anyone who really knows me knows that I really, really want my own spaceship. Preferably a more comfortable version of the one from Independence Day. I’ve been obsessed with the Space Shuttle since I was around six. I’m never going to be an astronaut but I can still dream, right? Which is why The Gathering’s “Strange Machines” makes me so happy.
