Drifting along lyrically….

0

This is what happens when I’ve got a head cold, watch too much of The Tudors, and get to thinking about countless friends and friends of friends.  This might be the most depressing song I’ve written in a long time, and that counts Crucified.  DO NOT READ if you’re enjoying your good mood!  The music is very old British royal court (naturally) and with thanks to Thomas Wyatt….

“A Memory (Sail Away)”

I reach for you, through a strange and dirty haze
Picture with the moon, of days we’ve lost, those days we played
Your heart unto me, mine unto you, my closest friends
Until the time came to leave, as you do again

Sail away, sail away sweet laughter, just like your beautiful faces
The crowds are gone, don’t forget the rapture we shared in those places
Sail away, take with you my answers, but please to grant me some reprieve
For I can’t be all of myself if you are just a memory

West Memphis 3 Song

0

I threw together a song today about the West Memphis 3 called “Justice Will Be Done.” You can download it from my MySpace page if you want. Again, sorry for the mix. I’m still learning.

Having a Memories kind of day

0

My cousin got hit with a major cancer diagnosis in the last couple days, so I was perusing YouTube and listening to some songs that either remind me of him or I somehow connect with the love of rock and roll he helped engender in me. For the record, I refuse to accept his prognosis. As far as I’m concerned there are no time limits and no absolutes.

New song – Queen of Mayhem

0

I’ve been ultra inspired lately, so here’s a demo version of “Queen of Mayhem.”  “Your Name,” “I’m In Love With You” and “Victim” might take a while because I have to do the piano parts myself.  Don’t wait up.  :)

Sorry for the mix, but I was in a hurry.

Updating some old issues

0

Hadn’t posted in a while so I thought I’d drop a note.  For those wondering about the progress of my book, I’ll be using a pen name, so you can follow things at ChristySummerland.com.

Physical therapy on my neck did finally greatly reduce my headaches.  And my tail bone pain is gone.  This pain I was told might never be fixed, for a problem even surgery couldn’t rectify, was fixed by one therapist simply by sitting with proper posture.  Try it.  You might like it.  Granted, if I sit in chairs where posture is difficult, it will start to hurt.  So I try to avoid those chairs.

I’ve lost 21 pounds in my mission to be a healthier me.  I still have a lot of foot pain here and there, usually after I clean the house (imagine that) but I’m confident someday I’ll get rid of that issue completely.  I accept nothing else.

Dr. Death really was Dr. Life

0

When I first got hooked on professional wrestling years ago, I watched a lot of tapes, and Dr. Death Steve Williams was a favorite of mine.  No matter what he was supposed to be in the ring, good or bad, he was always a favorite.  If he and Terry Gordy were supposed to be villains, sorry, I couldn’t go with it.  He was just too cool to hate.

I was really too busy to keep up with wrestlers that were no longer on tv when my mom was sick.  After she died, it came to my attention that Steve had “beat” cancer (as well as you can anyway) and efforts were underway to help him out financially.  Dr. Death had become Dr. Life.  At that exact moment in time, I needed something good like that.

My head, drivers who can’t read, and another song find

0

The results of my brain scan are that there’s nothing wrong with my head but a slightly deviated septum (and I still don’t want a nose job) and some minor sinusitis relations that aren’t what they’d have to be to cause the headaches.  So at the end of the month I start physical therapy on my neck.  If that goes well, fabulous.  If not, we try a little medication.  If THAT doesn’t work then my 2010 will start with a spinal tap, which I can tell you I’m thoroughly not thrilled with.  But considering my history of neck problems I think we’re on the right road.

All Searched Out

0

So today my friend Sheri and I were having a laugh fest by going to Google, typing in a word or two, and taking screenshots of some of the insane suggestions Google came up with.  I made an off hand remark that I could make a song out of them.  So I did.  Enjoy “All Searched Out!”  Bing, I’m looking at you.  Pay me and we’ll talk.

Guess who’s liver function has returned to normal?

0

If you guessed that would be ME, you would be correct.  Four to eight Tylenol a day plus occasional Darvocet for my foot, tailbone and headache problems isn’t exactly good for the liver, so it rebelled.  I cut out all painkillers (except for three Aleve in the last month), took a far infrared sauna three times a week, and detoxed it all out.  Now the liver is happy again.  Yea!
